Dublin Regulation and the external dimension of EU migration and asylum policy

The Institute, in cooperation with the Observatory on European Migration Law of the University of Pisa, has recently completed an analysis and research document within the framework of a project supported by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The document, drafted by Prof. Marcello Di Fillippo of the University of Pisa, Member of the Institute, and Ms Anja Palm, researcher at the IAI-Istituto Affari Internazionali, consists of three papers and provides policy indications on several issues at stake in the framework of EU migration and asylum policy including the reform of the Dublin system and the the external dimension of EU migration and asylum policy.

The papers were the subject of a panel discussion with independent experts and representatives from UNHCR and the Italian government which took place in the framework of the 88th Course on international refugee law organized by the Institute, in collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, in Sanremo from 28 March to 1 April.

It is possible to download the paper in the section "Research and publications" of the website.
