1. Venue:

2. Registration fees:
Military Courses on the Law of Armed Conflict - Registration fee: 1.500 €
Competition on IHL for Military Academies - Registration fee: 2.000 € per team
Specialised Military Course - Registration fee: 2.000 €
Course for Planners and Executors of Air Operations - Registration fee: 700 €
Course for Planners and Executors of Naval Operations - Registration fee: 700 €
Course on Human Rights for Armed, Security and Police Forces in Peace Operations - Registration fee: 700 €

Once selected,the registration fee is to remitted before the course starts to the

The registration fee covers beside tuition:
- Lunches and coffee breaks during working days
- Working documents
- Transportation from/to Nice airport (France)
- Official dinner and other social events.

3. Application:
Applicantion has to be made, if possible, one month before the beginning of the course, either using the registration form which requesting it by mail to
patrizia@iihl.org or maria.jonsson@iihl.org

4. Language:
It is essential that participants have a good command of the working language of the course. As you will have to consult working documents and follow lectures and debates. Simultaneous translation is not provided.         

5. Travel
Sanremo is located in the northern part of Italy, approximately 140 km west of Genoa and 60 km east of Nice, France, where the nearest airport is located (1-hour drive).
 

6. Arrival/Departure
An IIHL welcome desk will be open at Terminal 1 inside the customs area the day preceding the opening of the course. Please report to the desk before collecting luggaege. Collective transport will be organised on the same day.

Participants arriving at terminal 2 are requested to pick up their luggaege and make their way to the Terminal 1 using the airport's free shuttle and then phone the IIHL Welcome Desk from the Information desk at Arrivals.

Airport Authorities advice passengers to check in at the airport 90 to 12 minutes prior to flight departure.

Transport from Sanremo to Nice airport after the closure of the Course will also be organised according the need of Participants - It is one hour drive from Sanremo to Nice airport.

7. Visas
Participants are requested to make their own arrangements with regard to obtaining valid travel documents such as visas, passports, etc. Participants from countries needing a visa are expected to obtain a several entries Schengen visa before their departure, it can take up to three weeks (be aware that a visa is also required for transit for United Kingdom, the USA and sometimes the Netherlands). It is not possible to get a visa on arrival at the border.

8. Dress code
Military participants must wear uniform for working sessions. At official ceremonies jacket and tie or uniform.

9. Documents 
All necessary documents will be supplied by the Institute.

You are most welcome to display information from your country on the subjects of the Workshop.

10. Certification

A certificate of attendance will be given to participants at the end of the course.

11. Currency
The Italian currency is the Euro. At the present moment (2007) it is valued at
1 € - 1,46 US$. However this rate is subject to fluctuation.
In Sanremo only Euros are accepted.

We advice participants to change their money before their departure and to bring only US$ or Euros as other currencies may be difficult or impossible to change.
Most banks are open Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 16.15.
Major credit cards are accepted at most hotels, restaurants and shops.

12. Accommodation
Logistic accomodation and all other costs which are not covered by the registration fee will be at the personal expense of participants. The Institute can help with booking rooms in hotels with which it has a special agreement.
The hotels will apply preferential rates to participants and accompanying persons as follows, in euro (the hotel doesn’t accept dollars) (per day and person).

13. Food requirement:
Please advice the Institute if you are vegetarian or have any special dietary requirements

14. Travel and Health Insurance:
It is the responsability of each participant to have a adequate travel and health insurance for the whole duration of this trip. The institute is not responsable for any mediacl treatments participants may need during their stay nor any damage to persons or things on its premises. European citizens should bring their European Social Security Card.

15. Telephone Communications:
All hotels have international telephone facilities, however, we recommend participants to buy a telephone card (less expensive).
